The Pacers have kept guards T.J. Ford and Brandon Rush on the bench for a majority of the second half in consecutive games.
Ford and Rush, both starters, played a combined 16 minutes in the second half of Indiana's loss to Miami on Friday night.
Mike Wells of Indianapolis Star, who has been monitoring the situation, believes that the team is trying to send a message to the duo.
"I haven't been able to get in any kind of rhythm because I'm not getting the opportunity to stay on the floor," Rush told the Star.

Pacers rookie forward Tyler Hansbrough took a big step toward his return on Thursday when he practiced full court for the first time.
Hansbrough has been sidelined since late July with a shin injury.
"We're starting to see some drastic changes and starting to see this thing heal," Hansbrough told the Indianapolis Star. "(I'm) looking to get to play in my first game in the NBA."
The Pacers will continue to monitor Hansbrough's progress.
"If he can get to the point where he can practice for an extended period of time live, he'll be ready for the games," coach Jim O'Brien said.
